Hello, I am Natosha Pengarthit.
My aquatic career began at just 15 and a half years old as a lifeguard at a local recreation center in my hometown of Alexandria, Virginia. I have worked in various positions since from instructor to pool manager to area supervisor and I have developed a uniquely diverse skill set, including programming, managing, and maintenance. I've been awarded for my guarding by Ellis & Associates and a few of my previous employers. Though I am proud of my accomplishments; the jobs and accolades did not make me a Good Guard. A good lifeguard has a safety-first mindset and is knowledgeable, mature, and kind. They make it a priority to create safe and enjoyable environments for their swimmers and co-workers alike. That's what makes me a Good Guard!
When I am not busy being an aquatic professional, I dedicate my time to my nonprofit organization and my college alumni chapter. During my time as an undergrad, I co-founded Womanhood International, Inc. A nonprofit organization dedicated to the enhancement and maintenance of young ladies and women as they transition through different phases of life. We focus on mentoring, leadership, and service to our communities. In 2018 I graduated from my beloved alma mater, Tougaloo College, after earning my Bachelor of Arts degree in Communications with an emphasis in Journalism. I completed an internship with Jackson Free Press, where I was a city intern reporter.
My favorite quote is "The future belongs to those who believe in the beauty of their dreams".
