What does "Tiered Pool Operations" mean?
We offer three levels of service (Silver, Gold, and Platinum) so you can choose the right amount of support for your facility. This ranges from essential lifeguard staffing and safety plans to "all-inclusive" models that handle everything from maintenance to resident event programming.
How do you ensure your lifeguards are qualified?
Every guard at The Good Guard is fully certified, but we go a step further. We provide ongoing, site-specific training and regular "red-ball" drills to ensure our team is always sharp, proactive, and ready to act.
Can you help our property stay compliant with local health department regulations?
Absolutely. Compliance is a core pillar of our service. We handle the paperwork, safety signage audits, and daily log requirements to ensure your pool meets all Maryland state and local health department standards.
What is included in the Free 2026 Pool Safety & Compliance Audit?
This is a 15-minute on-site assessment where we review your facility's safety equipment, signage, and operational protocols. We provide you with a high-level report on your "opening readiness" and any gaps that need to be addressed before the season starts.
How often do you perform chemical balancing?
For our managed properties, we monitor chemical levels daily. For maintenance-only clients, we offer flexible schedules to ensure the water remains crystal clear and safe for swimmers.
Do you provide lifeguards for one-off resident events or private parties?
Yes! We offer "Event Pool Management" for HOAs and private properties. Whether it’s a community holiday kickoff or a private celebration, we provide the professional staffing and safety oversight needed for any crowd size.
How do I sign up for swim lessons?
After reviewing our pricing and plans, the first step is to review our swim lessons contract. Once you register, one of our certified instructors will be in touch within 24-72 hours to finalize your schedule!
Do I need a pool?
Yes. We offer mobile lessons at your home pool or at a pool you have access to. Please note that most public recreational facilities do not allow outside lessons.
Does my pool need to be heated?
Preferably, yes. Warm water (ideally between 82–86°F) helps swimmers stay comfortable and focused—especially children and first-time adult learners.
When should I turn on my heater?
It depends on your setup:
Gas heaters: Usually take 1–2 hours for a medium pool.
Electric/Heat Pumps: May need 12–24 hours to reach temperature.
Tip: Using a pool cover while heating helps retain heat and save energy!
What if my pool isn’t heated?
Lessons can still happen, but please be aware that cold water may shorten the session, especially for younger swimmers or hesitant beginners.
Do you teach adults?
Absolutely! Many of our clients are adults learning for the first time. We provide a supportive, judgment-free environment for all ages.
Can my kids share a lesson?
Yes! Up to 3 siblings can rotate time within a single session (a 60-90-minute session is required).
What happens if it rains?
In the event of extreme weather, the lesson will be canceled, and a make-up class will be offered. Alternatively, the missed time can be added to your next scheduled lesson. All make-ups must be scheduled within 2 weeks.
